Enabling families to live safely, free from domestic abuse
Up and Coming Music Artist ‘Rye Milligan’ Supports West Wales Women’s Aid.
During March, West Wales Women’s Aid held two events for young people at Coleg Ceredigion, raising awareness of domestic abuse issues and encouraging the building of positive and healthy relationships amongst adolescents.
Engaging and raising awareness of the signs of domestic abuse is crucial preventative work amongst young people.
Rye Milligan, an up and coming singer songwriter from West Wales, has recently released his debut EP called IMPACT, which is named after the headline song on the EP.
Music Artist Rye Milligan (aged 17) said ‘The song is about rising up, and standing up against abuse towards women, mental, emotional and physical’
Rye added ‘I made the video for the IMPACT track with the specific aim of releasing it during March for International Women’s Day. I am donating £1 from every copy of the EP sold to the charity that is supporting the theme.’
Rye has kindly nominated West Wales Women’s Aid to be a charity to benefit from the donations of his EP sales.
Rachael Eagles, Service Manager at West Wales Women’s Aid, commented that ‘it’s so refreshing to hear of young people taking up the mantle to raise awareness of issues surrounding domestic abuse.’
Rachael added, ‘Rye is a positive male role model that has dedicated time, energy and money to the cause. He is an exceptionally talented young music artist and we look forward to watching Rye rise to new heights within the music industry. It’s our pleasure to work in collaboration with Rye on raising awareness of the issues surrounding domestic abuse.’
Rye’s IMPACT music video was used to launch the events hosted by West Wales Women’s Aid at Coleg Ceredigion campus’s in Aberystwyth and also Cardigan.
